Across the U.S., Gen Z, women, LGBTQ and Black candidates broke barriers and made history in the midterm elections on November 8th.
 　Florida is sending the first member of Gen Z, those born from 1997 to 2012, to Congress. The winner Maxwell Alejandro Frost, 25, is a parttime Uber driver. In Massachusetts, Democrat Maura Healey is becoming the state’s first elected female governor and the nation’s first out lesbian state executive. Republican Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the former Trump White House press secretary, has been elected the first female governor of Arkansas. At least 12 female governors will lead states, a new record for the first time.
 　In Maryland, voters elected the state’s first Black governor. Wes Moore is the third Black candidate to be elected as the governor. Vermont will finally send a woman to Congress, after being the only state never to have had female representation in the House.
