The Atlanta Braves have won their first World Series title since 1995 after defeating the Houston Astros 7-0 in Game 6 on Nov. 2nd at Minute Maid Park. The Braves took the Series four games to two behind strong pitching and three big home runs.
The victory would come as a shock to anyone in August when the team was stuck below 500. Yet out of nowhere, suddenly, these Atlanta Braves transformed themselves and took off.
While it’s the Braves’ second title in Atlanta, it’s their fourth overall. They also won in 1957 and 1914 in Milwaukee and Boston, respectively. The Braves came into this World Series with 16 consecutive postseason appearances without a title, the longest streak of all time. Now it’s finally over.
